snails and swirls

Layer upon layer and details within details. Swirls and patterns; chaos and order. Why do we have this drive to create?

Nothing is permanent; create away! Create your identity. Create your day. And then create your world. And be there (with an enigmatic, all-knowing smile) for your guaranteed front-row seat when it's all destroyed.

The subtle truth of the Universe exists in all things but it is utterly unspeakable.
Art is an expression of what we know but can't express through words.

Kansas

So, in case you were wondering, this is Kansas. And a mere sliver of the pie, let me tell you. I've been here since September (except for that week-long Wyoming getaway last week) and it's been mind-bogglingly fantastic. I've made friends that I can actually spend time with outside of a month or a week or a day. I've re-learned how to cook and am learning how to blow glass in our kitchen/glass workshop. I'm re-learning how to draw and how to paint and how to be creative. (Eighteen years of school really tries to stomp it outta ya.) Anyways, I'm having fun and loving it back in Kansas. And did I mention the entire reason I moved to Kansas? His name is Vaughn and I love him! That's all for now. I'm busy working. At the Scuba Shack. Filling tanks and divin' lakes. More to come.

Wakarusa... more to come soon

Last weekend I went to a music festival right outside of Lawrence called Wakarusa. Wow. It was the most fantastically fun weekend! I'll write about it soon...
